In my case, I write content to propel the cleantech market forward. In the cases of many of the people I have the privilege of meeting, they create the actual technology or the companies that do.
A lot of this happens twelve inches from a computer screen. Once in a while, we have a chance to meet in person. The human face is a heck of a lot easier on the eyes.
The people at the California Solar and Storage Association, Energy Toolbase, and Edisun Microgrids recently hosted Sunshine and Moonshine. It was a cocktail hour for renewable energy professionals, investors, and supporters in Pasadena.
People came from all over Los Angeles, Orange County, San Deigo and San Francisco.
Meeting new people for the first time and meeting people (in real life) whom I’d connected with online was invigorating.

Speaking of! My new friend, Agathe of Schletter, and I were so happy to see not just each other, but so many other women at this tech-forward shindig.
It’s always fascinating to me how much energy I feel when I leave events like these.
It reminds that no matter how convenient and connecting technology is, there’s nothing quite like the special charge that comes from looking another human in the eyes.
